Speaking of downtown, what's Nantucket without Cioppino's? The utterly indomitable owners, Tracy and Susan Root, have their imprimatur all over the place. And they handle a packed house with ease. Tracy is like Harry of the Cantebury Tales, who exhibits not a little jollity and likes a tale or two, as he hurries from room to room. It's a nice bistro experience. The dining is casual, with an Italian-American menu. Despite the crowds, service and food at Cioppino's are always very good. It's a wonderfully busy place.
